Election Chances: Probably 50 - 50

So Every Vote For Me Will Be Necessary

It seems like voters are wanting a change from the current city government, from reckless abandon and extravagant spending to prudence, responsibility and pragmatism mixed with the kind of activism that gets things done, so I think that bodes well for my election chances, but since I have 3 powerful Ms against me (the Mayor's office, the Mirror newspaper, and the Municipal League), grounded squarely in Establishment politics, it will have to be a squeaker election.  By the way, the schizoid Muny League (Municipal League) qualified me for the King County Council back in '09, which on levels of government is a tad higher than city councils in the county.  Go figure.

Believe me, going against these 3 Ms is not easy, and really would make my election amazing, but hardly impossible.  Probably, the biggest surprise, aside from the mayor's turnabout, is the anonymous "Stepin Fetchit" character over at the Mirror, who seems to delight in showing his bosses that he, in his Fetchit-type role, will perform his writing tasks dutifully.  I'm really not that thin-skinned for a politician, but that "journalist" has been going out of his way to be nasty to my campaign, and more than a few times.   As for the Mayor's aide-de-camp, Chris Truppner, all thanks to him for getting me into this race, and I hope Truppner's political mastery, though a large part unwitting after the Mayor's disapproval, will lead to yet a second straight political success in as many election cycles.

I'm proud to say that not a single Establishment person has given me a penny for my campaign; the few dollars that I have received have come from commoners, and I'm going to do everything I can to work in the interests of our silent majority, if elected, albeit by a handful of votes.  Thank you!
