Rogue-ner Speaks

Just saw Bob Roegner's latest column about Dini Duclos and P.K. Thumbi.   Something tells me that Councilwoman Duclos is not thrilled to be compared to Goliath, but that's "Rogue-ner" for you.  In recent columns, "Rogue-ner" seems to have a love affair with the Minor League, also known as the Municipal League.  This is the same league that sent me to the wrong address this year for an interview that I reluctantly went to, and had me literally running some distance to the right address a few miles away, which a county or city employee that happened to be in the right spot at the right time gave me the directions to after I was able to give him a landmark to go by.   Of course, I was late after that, but only about 5 minutes or so, and a little disoriented having to begin the interview on the spot while trying to catch my breath from running.

"Rogue-ner" has such great faith in Establishment assemblies like the Municipal League, a little crowd of people that would be no more significant than if a neighborhood group gathered to discuss politics, and very likely no more knowledgeable about political science than a random gathering of such citizens.  Yet, this little organization is given so much heft by the media for no particular reason other than that ... well, they're the Municipal League, and [we're] suppose to ... but no questions asked about who makes up this little band of politicos, where their sympathies and loyalties lie, and are they any smarter than laypeople (non-politicians).

Reason before giving blind faith to "Rogue-ner," especially with his sycophantic curtsies to the Establishment puppets of the moment.
