Paradoxical Journalism

It's hard to understand the type of schizoid newspaper that can be gracious to political candidates by publishing press releases and inviting them to forums, but at the same time having a "journalist" that makes ad hominem insults at politicians for no discernible reason other than it's circus-like entertainment, I guess.  In columns that focus on politics a lot, the occasional circus jaunt here and there may be incisive or interesting, but when it's overdone or over-the-top, it gets old and boring ... and they have the gall to wonder why more people don't run for office.

Update:  I was willing to participate in all Mirror functions since Sept. 30, 2015, including the Mirror forum for candidates.  I am hoping for objectivity, but whether that actually occurs or not, only time will tell.

Latest Updates (Oct. 4, 2015):  Would-be Council kingmaker, unofficial Mirror columnist, Bob Roegner, skips writing about Position 1 this week. No surprise, here.  At least a week ago, I figured he would wait as close as possible to the General Election ballot mail-out to have the maximum effect to try to swing the election to my opponent.  I would have been more surprised if the "Position 1" column had come out this week.

Recent indications appear to show that the Mirror is showing little if any interest in dĂ©tente.  They get a thousand-fold more viewers for their publications than this blog does, so I doubt if they care what I write, but with any luck, a general and broader objectivity will be paramount.
