The nasty, rogue columnist over at the Federal Way Mirror is back to his scoundrel-esque ways again, giving the very well funded Claire Wilson Senate campaign lots of credibility, while backhanding mine, but Wilson, who draws from the exact same 30th District voters that I do, only received a scant few hundred more votes than me. Imagine what I could do if I had the campaign funds she had, but there is a window of opportunity for me in this long campaign, and I'm not hesitating to go through it. Despite all of his partisanship and shortcomings, "Rogue-ner" is right about one thing, the Sarah Smith for Congress campaign is not to be underestimated, as she has pulled together a very respectable campaign organization and is giving Adam Smith (the Congressional 9th District's corporate, militarist congressman) fits, a well deserved comeuppance to Adam Smith's sub-par, lackluster career, which is supported and endorsed by my equally lackluster state representative opponent, Kristine Reeves.
That should drive a wedge through the Democratic base since 2 Democrats managed to make the General Election in the 9th District this year. At least Sarah's good on the environment and the New Deal, and also has a sense of balance when it comes to foreign affairs, as she strikes me as being in the non-interventionist wing of the Democratic Party. Sarah probably received about 33% of the 30th District Democratic vote. Roegner implied that the G.O.P. may well be trying to give Sarah a boost, which could be good for my campaign. Yeah, Sarah's a little radical, but a handful of radicals in Congress are not going to put the most worrisome aspects of their agenda in play, and may be just the wake-up call Congress needs to make necessary compromises with each others' party.
