"The Collegiate" Updated

This formerly entitled post, "Why Is the Collegiate Running Against Mark Greene?" is now updated with a few revisions in the original post, and a closing Addendum.

The irony of UW student Chevy Swanson running against me in an intra-party Primary for the G.O.P./Republican nomination for District 30 State Rep., which I announced for months before he did, is he and I probably agree on a lot of issues, given that he supported Trump in the 2016 election, and I agree with several of Trump's fundamental positions that he took in the campaign, such as a lot less immigration, a lot less involvement of America in the affairs of other countries, especially militarily, and the "drain the swamp" ethos, in other words, bouncing out the pretenders and hacks in government who are there more for self-service than for service to the country and their constituents.

So if Mr. Swanson and I are both on the same G.O.P. team and have similar views, you would think he would run for Position 1, against the henpecked-by-Radical Feminists and unopposed Democrat, Mike Pellicciotti, instead of me.  Maybe, Chevy will have a change of heart and do just that.  An intra-party primary battle would probably leave Kristine Reeves with the spoils of victory; at least would make it that much harder to defeat her in November.

Addendum:

Chevy Swanson is a swell guy, but he really should be running against Pellicciotti instead of me.  Chevy and I should be supporting each other in elections, but if he is really running for Position 2 instead of Position 1, it is just going to divide and sap support for each of us that Reeves and Pellicciotti will easily take advantage of, especially if Pellicciotti is left unopposed.  Of course, Chevy may have information that I don't have about who is going to take on Pellicciotti, as that person just may not want to fill out P.D.C. forms any earlier than he or she has to.

If that is the case, I have a feeling that would-be candidate is either Kochmar or Dovey.  Pellicciotti's victory margin in 2016 was too close for the Establishment to let him have a free ride only two years later.  Therefore, a Position 2 G.O.P. showdown was probably inevitable, anyway, because the Establishment doesn't like me, and that works out to be pretty much a draw for my chances, but advantage "me."

Comments

Despite the intra-party primary challenge, Mark Greene is still, likely, the most socially conservative candidate in the District 30 state races, as the following comment by Mark reflects:

Culture counts, because the radical left, in general, are now getting people demoted, or outright fired from their jobs if they don't go along with "open borders" or "everybody is the same sex" nonsense. They're changing the mores of our country so drastically that if left up to them, it would practically be a crime to be patriotic. Just last year, the radicals in Federal Way intimidated the Federal Way City Council to the degree that they had to forego the patriotic design for the city's logo that they had previously voted for. The Council's vote for the design was therefore unfortunately reversed under pressure.

If this so-called "left wave" comes to light in 2018, we might as well say goodbye to the America of lore. That's how critical this year's elections are. We can either be the country of the "America the Beautiful" poem (the entire lyrics by Katharine Bates), or the country of the Seattle City Council radicals, circa 2018, but not both.
