Work

Now, that the weather has simmered down a little bit, and will allow me to continue the active campaign, I used the title of this post to remind me that "work" will ultimately win this election, and I have two jobs, now - 7 days a week - my regular, making-a-living job and the state representative campaign.  This will last all the way until November 6, if the campaign lasts beyond the primary, so 2018 is going to be a very energetic year for me.

Quite frankly, the on-line aspect of this campaign, including these posts, will be downplayed significantly since the decision has been made to focus on door-to-door-style campaigning.  There's not enough time to fit in a day to do everything that I want to do for the campaign, so decisions have to be made, and like I said, I have that regular job that I have to attend to.  Believe me, if I could afford the financial risk of taking 8 months off from work, I would, but I don't have that luxury, I'm just a working class person (legal assistant and working in the security field) like most of us.

I'm still getting over the Federal Way Mirror "slowing down" the publication of my press release, but I think it's the current publisher who's doing this, and probably who's also "Mr. Anonymous," that stopped what the editor was going to do.  I think, but don't know for sure, that Hobbs took over as "Mr. Anonymous" as soon as the other so-called Mr. Federal Way, the former publisher Alcott, quit and went back to his home in Maple Valley.  That's right, the "Mr. Anonymous" who was more bountiful in the shadiness of writing the "Mr. Anonymous" column than presently, didn't really live in Anonymityville (hee, hee, hee; the joke's on us).  By the way, if the Establishment Republicans decide to field a candidate for Position 2, you can bet that the Mirror will publish that candidate's press release, as well as when Reeves announces some kind of official opening to her re-election campaign.

I have never seen a newspaper in any city or town that manipulates elections as much as the Mirror does, and not just on the Opinion pages.  With any luck, the people won't be fooled by these shenanigans, and really, journalistic irresponsibility, but it's not just the Mirror, as the Tacoma News Tribune and the Seattle Times are not much better; and the TV News outfits are atrocious in giving the full picture of elections, a back alley that doesn't even measure up to the Mirror's standards.  I'll try to help in bringing all of this media bias to light through my voters' pamphlet statement and this campaign's social media presence, but one thing is for sure, it will be real work that determines the outcome of this election, and I'm ready for the challenge.  Thank you.
