Federal Way Councilwoman Kelly Maloney was right when she said or implied, at a community gathering focusing on crime, that we need to look at the root causes of crime as part of the community's effort to tackle it, as Federal Way is undergoing a senseless and cowardly crime wave recently. We might start with the unsavory aspects of the entertainment industry, especially some TV, movies, music & video games that have been acculturating youth with coarseness, hooliganism, disrespectfulness, amorality and immorality. "Hollywood, et al." has brought havoc to communities all over America, and the more that the general population can keep its more unsavory aspects from infiltrating the general commons, the better off our community and communities all over our nation will be.
