There are a handful of sober and hard-working elected officials in Federal Way government, such as Kelly Maloney and Susan Honda, or representing Federal Way in other government entities, but to listen to some of the others congratulate themselves and other officials so much (watching the FW cable network), you would think that somehow we have suddenly landed in the Garden of Eden. All of this reminded me of a European visitor, who I happened upon at the library, about a couple of years ago, when he remarked on the same phenomenon, with sharp but appropriate cynicism about politics, here, after visiting a Council session or two at Federal Way City Hall. For goodness sake, enough of the self-congratulatory remarks, he pretty much said, roll up your sleeves and get to work.
"Rogue-ner" (Mirror columnist, Bob Roegner) is at it, again, as he implied that people only remember me because of Ferrell's temper tantrum last year. Of course, he doesn't write about the policy issues & proposals that I formulated in writing, or verbally in public sessions, or about my community work. That's because his job is to prop up Establishment politicians and to malign would-be or actual real representatives of the people.
