Vote of Confidence

I really shouldn't take the bait, but those guys at the sleazy local paper are something else, and yes, it's getting harder and harder to separate the tag-team columnists from the more "respectable" paper.  Not that I really try anymore.  Assefa-Dawson will be declared the winner by the Dean Loganesque K.C. Elections Department in a few days, but the Mirror is still throwing out sleaze this late in the season.  The carnival barkers are back at full steam, believe it or not.  How do I judge that?  Well, perhaps, they are big fans of "FW Politics," and they think my legal strategy just might succeed in getting a new election for the regular term.  Either that, or they think I'll still be strong in a couple of years when a new set of council seats are up for grabs.  Or maybe they believe both.  Whichever of these three it is, it's a vote of confidence for me, and I appreciate the compliment, even though backhanded.   I would ask "Fetchit" to be my campaign manager for the new election, but he'll probably be too busy; those old-time minstrel shows are coming back in style - unfortunately - after all.
