2015 is proving to be the "Year of the Outsider" in politics, and now the people in Washington state and all over America, in local and state government elections, will decide whether that is just a passing fancy or serious politics, and the decision will be made soon, November 3rd. We can keep on with the same, stale Establishment politics that could care less about the Common Man and his problems, the kind of politics that have embraced globalism for the good of their own "bottom line," or turn to the kind of patriotism that cares for the entire nation. I'm not a so-called global citizen, I'm an American citizen, and I'm going to do what's best for our citizenry, regardless of our variations and differences, first and foremost, if I'm elected to anything. That's the only road to progress in our nation.
By the way, as once a member of the defunct Citizens Party of the 1970s and 80s, it would be great to kind of establish "3rd party politics" in Washington, again, by winning this Position 1 election as a member of the Revived Citizens Party, although the election itself is non-partisan. "Winning one for Barry," referring to the late Barry Commoner, one of the great environmentalists and outsider party political revivalists of our time, and founder of the former Citizens Party, would be great.
Note: I promised that I would write something about what should be done with the vacant or soon-to-be vacant Weyerhaeuser Property after getting the question regarding that at the Oct. 7th forum. I think it would be a good location for new "green energy" businesses that would help us deal with the problem of climate change and global warming.
Incidentally, none of the mayor's people, or the mayor himself, have invited me to sit in for consultations at City Hall like former City Manager of Newcastle, John Starbard, did (invite me) in 2007, when I lived in that Washington city and ran for Council. That just goes to show you the contempt the Ferrell Administration has for any politician of the people not in the mayor's clique.
