This may be the most monetarily minimalist campaign in FW this year since it primarily represents the "Common Man," but that doesn't mean it cannot be victorious in the end. "Grassroots" has beaten "Money" many times in elections across the U.S., though, admittedly not a majority of modern-day elections overall, but a grassroots campaign can win with enough volunteers, which is why this campaign puts so much emphasis on that.
Several people, in fact, have said they would be volunteers for the Greene for Council campaign, but most of them did not show up for 2 meetings that have been held thus far, nor left a message expressing further interest. This is why the campaign committee can never have too many volunteers, and why we continually ask YOU to help out. So even if you could contribute only one hour of your time per month, if there were 25 such volunteers with that little amount of time, that would be a combined 100 solid hours before the August 4th primary, in addition to the work performed by volunteers who can do more than an hour per month. 100 hours of time could make the difference between being in the Top 2 & the General Election, or not. Any contribution whatsoever could put the Greene campaign in the winning column. Thank you!
Potential volunteers should email poc_senator@yahoo.com (put the word "volunteer" in subject heading, please). For more information about volunteering, read this post.
Incidentally, the previous post is about the Council's recent 5 - 2 decision to ban marijuana stores; a decision Mark Greene opposes based on the Initiative 502 vote of the citizens of Federal Way.
