The year 2015 is still stinging. I'm still trying to comprehend why the Establishment, namely the Municipal League of King County, "Rogue-ner" and "Mr. Anonymous," defamed me, and how that year brought me my first electoral success in 13 years (from an Alaska Primary victory to the Federal Way Primary elevation), but ultimately went down to defeat as a result of a barrage of Establishment lies and innuendo implying that I was an uneducated rube and generally out of my league, which to them was no league at all.
Then 2 years later, I really thought nobody had the temerity to challenge Ferrell for mayor except me, and I probably wouldn't have run had I expected a fairly popular politician to enter the race when I filled out papers for P.D.C., but once I started, I wasn't going to quit, even though there was plenty of time to reconsider before the filing date. I'm sure I would have quit for Kelly Maloney, however, seeing how she immediately introduced herself to me after the controversial July of '15 Council debate.
Regarding those 3 Establishment foes mentioned above (the Municipal League, "Rogue-ner" & "Mr. Anonymous," and I believe the successive publishers filled in as the latter, especially the first of two, with neither having any resemblance whatsoever to the caricature, of course), the only reason I can logically come up with is just plain dislike for anyone who is an outlier to politics-as-usual. But I'm back and fighting with a commoner spirit. Thank you, Federal Way, for sticking with me these last two cycles with some pretty respectable vote percentages, considering all the fog.
