The Democratic Party's Inslee Administration just named Kristine Reeves "Legislator of the Year" for working on legislation that enhanced military veteran's benefits, among others, but I refer readers to a recent post on this blog: "Kristine Reeves: The Dems.' Potemkin Village Candidate."
The Federal Way Mirror headline & story, of course, left out the fact that this award was effectively sponsored by the Democratic Party administration, other than reading between the lines. Here's a comment (further below) that I tried to put on the Mirror's on-line post, but their comment section was broken.
-- Mark Greene, Candidate for State Representative, 30th Legislative District, Pos. 2
The comment that I tried to post:
As an ex-Marine, honorably discharged, I want to thank the entire Legislature for overwhelmingly, if not unanimously, passing bills that help veterans and their families, that were in the works before the 2016 election that ushered in new legislators, but were probably pushed aside because of a lack of session time.
Though, I'm not aware of 100% of the details of this legislation, they appear to be generally good (I'll study them further). Other than that, it's (a little) disingenuous for a Democratic Party governor's administration to be handing out Legislator of the Year awards to their own party members, but that's politics.
