Councilwoman Susan Honda has entered the race for mayor. There was a time when I would have dropped out of the race if Honda had entered it, but that time passed the moment that I came to the conclusion that she is in line with Mayor Ferrell's & the Diana Noble-Gulliford/Planning Commission's "Big Brother" proposed regulations on apartments and apartment residents.
Honda voted to appoint Noble-Gulliford, one of the biggest anti-apartment voices in Federal Way, to the Council. At this time, Federal Way City Hall, generally, is busy devising regulations for apartment folks that they wouldn't dare try to impose on homeowners (things like out-of-sight, out-of-mind car parking schemes, government-mandated surveillance cameras in every complex instead of apartment owners & residents coming up with their own thought out security needs just like anybody else: however, the mayor's and the Council's plans are not about security as they would have us believe, but about control), and the ordinance for this piece of Orwellian business will probably come out before the official start of the election season in mid-May.
So far, I only know what I have heard through word-of-mouth or read in the Mirror, as I haven't even had the opportunity, yet, to get to City Hall during business hours to see last year's Planning Commission's official plan to keep apartment residents in check (apparently from their October 5, 2016 session), but I have a feeling it's terrible.

*This blog was not coming up on Chrome and possibly other browsers for some reason, but that appears to have been fixed, now (3/1/17): unfortunately, these and other kind of shenanigans come with the territory in politics, even for fairly slightly read blogs like this one, but more people are reading FW Politics all the time in spite of the obstacles/sleaze.
