Despite Federal Way Mirror columnist Bob Roegner's innuendo that painted me as some stranger who waltzed into Federal Way and, based on his wild imagination, got an upset Top 2 placement in the General Election because of this blog and a single statement in the voters' pamphlet (they both helped, but were hardly the only reasons), I believe I have been publicly known in FW even before Roegner started practicing "journalism" here, especially among those who pay attention to Congress elections. The Mirror published my press release back in March that stated that I lived non-consecutive years in Federal Way, so Roegner's pointing that out, again, was hardly a revelation.
I first saw Federal Way in 1996 visiting my mother, and moved here myself in 2002. As FW knows, I campaign very hard in all of my campaigns, whether for elections or organizational, and nearly became the official Republican nominee for Congress in '04, based on thousands of votes from Federal Way citizens, among thousands of other votes from the overall 9th Congressional District (officially, around eighteen thousand in all).
Back then, I started my organization that helps citizens with government and election matters, although it went by a different name then, so Federal Way knows me well. Even the Mirror has a letter or two from me from the early Zeroes that they published, particularly in '04, and I debated Adam Smith, Paul Lord and Robert Losey in the Federal Way Regional Library as a candidate for Congress that year, an event that was on TV.
I have been a part of Federal Way long before Roegner's column, not to mention probably long before my Council opponent lived here.
