Honestly, I have never been so humiliated in my entire life than losing the Federal Way City Council election of 2015, for Position 1, to Lydia Assefa-Dawson, someone who is not qualified to be one of the city commissioners, let alone a council member. Truly, the Federal Way Mirror used their immense media power locally by "slandering" me to keep her on the Council after I came in second in the Primary over their other endorsed candidate, and probably favorite, Anthony Murrietta. Slander in the lowest common denominator sense as opposed to the technical legal sense, as various officials in King and Thurston counties will tell you that I'm not shy about going to courts, either federal or municipal, to defend myself through my own legal skills (I haven't used lawyers). And of course, there is the untouchable and thereby journalistically unexamined Municipal League of King County to contend with, an organization that can make any pronouncement they want without any words of explanation or justification for their proclamations.
Nevertheless, I have a college degree, am an experienced legal assistant that has studied government since the 1960s, have a much better sense of judgment than a good share of elected politicians, such as oppposing the Iraq war before it began in March, 2003, a fact that can be proved in Anchorage (Alaska) Daily News publications of 2002 and 2003, and wrote about the need for society to counteract global warming as early as 1986, a fact that can be proved, presumably through archives, in the Insight (Minneapolis) newspaper, a small, and I believe, weekly publication, although I have no idea whether that paper is still published or not.
The Mirror and the Municipal League had some people in Federal Way believing that I was a clueless-about-government, uneducated person, thanks largely to the likes of the Mirror's cowardly, anonymous columnist, usually called "Fetchit" on this blog, and "Rogue-ner," of course. I don't know how I will manage to get pass the Mirror's "slander" in next year's mayoral election, but usually sleaze has a way of being unreliable and unconvincing in the long run; it's called the boomerang effect. Nonetheless, it's a "New Day," and I'll have absolutely nothing to do with the Mirror or their "Fetchit" and "Rogue-ner" tag team.
