Downtown, Neighborhoods and Businesses

Federal Way is on the verge of prosperous growth and development that will define our city for many decades to come, but the city needs to manage this growth so that it doesn't become too outsized for our own good.  This includes managing the size of our downtown area in a way that increases our retail tax base and provides jobs to the city's unemployed, is basically funded by private sources, and preserves the fundamental aspects of the downtown area in a way that all of our community appreciates and can be proud of, while protecting our most precious environmental elements, including neighborhoods outside of downtown that will need the city's hand with basic infrastructure needs and adding or restructuring public community centers.  Federal Way should continue to strive for a productive working relationship with businesses, small and large, with as little regulation as possible, in helping them be a great economic engine for the region or community, and a vital & basic contributing source of success for the entire city.
