Name

"Rogue-ner" (Bob Roegner) recently mangled my name in a recent column of his, so to set the record straight:  I was given the name Clifford Mark Greene on Day 1 of my life by my mother, a former Baptist turned devout Catholic, and she actually meant "Mark" to be my first name, but the registrar in Michigan switched the intended first and middle names around, presumably by mistake.  They would not change it back without a steep fee, so my mother, Ellen Greene (1933 - 2006), decided to let the switch stay as the official name.  However, she mostly referred to me as Mark ever since, so my official middle name became my de facto first name, but I use both my first and middle names more than the average person.

"Rogue-ner" refers to me as a "perennial office seeker," so don't be surprised if my de facto name in the sleazy Mirror tabloid/site becomes "Perennial."  With any luck, a boomerang!
